Belidor AI has secured $2.1 million in seed funding to advance an operational intelligence platform designed for utility and industrial water treatment teams.
The round, announced on December 3, 2023, was led by Nexenai Capital and 49th Fund. Ribbit Capital and Cherry Ventures also participated, bringing the investor group to four.
Belidor AI is targeting a persistent operational problem in the water sector. Treatment facilities generate information through control systems, laboratory testing, spreadsheets, operator rounds, maintenance records, and plant documentation, but those sources frequently remain disconnected. Teams can have extensive data without a fast way to determine what changed, why it changed, or which action should follow.
The company's platform brings those sources into a unified operational environment. Agent Zed, described by Belidor AI as an AI process engineer, can work with a facility's readings, logs, and documents to answer questions, investigate performance, create charts, analyse uploaded files, and carry out scheduled monitoring and reporting jobs.
Belidor AI also provides digital twins and historical plant audits, configurable dashboards, calculated performance metrics, alerts and notifications, task management, operating procedures, and data integrations. The platform can work with SCADA systems, historians, spreadsheets, manual rounds, and existing plant documents.
Connections to plant control data are read-only. Belidor AI does not change setpoints or send commands into the control system, positioning the software as a decision-support layer that works alongside existing plant infrastructure and operator expertise.
The company serves wastewater, drinking water, industrial water, food and beverage, desalination, and water reuse applications. Its commercial proposition centres on helping plants improve compliance, uptime, operating efficiency, and knowledge sharing without requiring a complete replacement of their existing technology stack.
The seed backing gives Belidor AI additional capacity to develop its product, support implementations, and extend AI-powered operational intelligence across the water sector.
