FIS, a global FinTech company supporting payments, banking and investing, has expanded its Digital One Commercial platform into the Asia-Pacific region, completing a global rollout across the US, EMEA and APAC.

The expansion gives banks in APAC access to a single platform designed to support business customers ranging from small enterprises to large corporates. The platform is designed to connect with existing core banking infrastructure rather than replace it, allowing banks to provide commercial banking services through one system.

Digital One Commercial supports real-time payments across multiple payment rails, including PayNow, GIRO, FAST and SWIFT/ISO. The platform also supports trade finance and liquidity management across multiple entities, while its API-first design enables connections with ERP and accounting software.

FIS said the platform is designed to help banks manage business banking services across markets while supporting different regulatory and technology requirements. The company highlighted that many banks continue to operate separate systems for small business and corporate customers across different countries.

FIS referenced research from Celent showing corporate banking technology spending across APAC increased by 5.5% in 2025 and by a further 6.2% in 2026. The company said banks are directing investment towards client lifecycle management and digital platforms for corporate customers.

The company also noted that banks operating across the region face challenges including data residency requirements and technology risk frameworks, including the Monetary Authority of Singapore's Notice 649 and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority's LM2.

FIS said Digital One Commercial supports English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Bahasa Indonesia and Vietnamese, alongside multi-currency and multi-time zone capabilities. The company added that one unnamed APAC bank is already using the platform across 15 countries from a single instance, serving around 350,000 business customers and more than one million end-users.

FIS co-president, banking solutions, Peter Boyer said, 'APAC's commercial banking landscape is among the most complex in the world, and too many banks are navigating it with separate systems built for individual markets rather than the region. The opportunity is not incremental improvement - it is helping banks unite their commercial banking operations, serve every business segment from a single platform, and unlock growth across the region.'

Celent head of banking and payments Colin Kerr added, 'In APAC, the shift toward platform-based commercial banking is accelerating, driven by the need to unify client experiences and support cross-border services. Banks are increasingly prioritizing flexible, integration-led architectures that can sit alongside existing cores - making solutions such as Digital One Commercial highly relevant to current transformation agendas.'
