The insurance sector has been battling a prolonged hard market for several years, but the market is shifting and growth is back on the agenda.

VCNews.co recently sat down with Ido Deutsch, chief revenue officer at insurance distribution software developer Producerflow.

While carriers are getting back into growth mode, Deutsch noted it is not across all lines of business, but it is becoming more widespread. He noted that pressure is rising for distributions and how they can get more predictable and cost-effective distribution. The most effective way to achieve that is through agent channels.

These agents are communicating regularly with clients and building relationships, which is vital. However, for carriers that are scaling, whether it is into new markets or business lines, they need a way to accelerate onboarding agents, which can take up to a month, creating unnecessary friction. This is a major challenge facing carriers in 2026, alongside how agent channel management, which is largely reliant on outdated and manual workloads.

While producer onboarding and compliance might seem like an operational issue, Deutsch sees them as a strategic challenge. 'It becomes strategic because both ends of the producer lifecycle directly impact revenue. It's not just operations and removing manual steps, it's really how the carrier can improve and grow their revenue.'
