FIS, a global FinTech giant listed on the NYSE, has extended its partnership with Anthropic, adopting the AI firm's Mythos 5 model to bolster the security of its own systems through Project Glasswing.
Project Glasswing is Anthropic's controlled-access programme, which deploys frontier AI to strengthen the security of software underpinning critical infrastructure. Under the initiative, FIS will use Mythos 5, Anthropic's most capable frontier model, as an extra defensive layer inside its security programme.
The scheme convenes organisations responsible for building or maintaining foundational software, with participants applying Anthropic's most advanced models exclusively to defensive security tasks.
The stakes for FIS are considerable. The company runs the technology that clears payments, moves money and powers core banking for thousands of institutions across the globe, meaning the integrity of its code is fundamental to the stability of worldwide financial infrastructure. Given that scale, FIS says it holds its own infrastructure security to the same standard it demands of the technology it supplies to clients.
